Rebuilding a piano action and making it work properly doesn’t have to be hard. This class will give you the knowledge and confidence to do the job right. By quickly identifying the most significant variables, you’ll spend your time and energy on what matters most.

Follow Rick and Carl as they take you through an actual rebuild documenting the many decisions and operations necessary to make the action function properly. Most are not part of regulation. Action geometry will be presented in a straightforward manner. From this discussion, you will understand the importance of proper parts selection and the contribution of each part to the system. The effects of friction on touch weight and performance, and the trade-off between touch weight and inertia will also be covered.
